| THE CONTROL ROOM |
|
| The entire terminal
is fully automated and is designed and constructed in a
manner as to have minimum human intervention. The flow
process incorporating the discharge from vessel into the
storage tanks, loading of the tankers (which are done
concurrently), they weight and measure of the volume
disposed are controlled by all network of flow meters.
Radar Guages, Batch Controllers, Control Valves, and
Motor Operated Values, with the aid of an Advanced PLC
based computer systems. |
 |
| Further more, a
seriers of close circuit television camera's have been
installed at strategic locations within the terminal
premises, which can be monitored from the control room
to assist in monitoring operations, safety and security
of the entire facility along with the personnel present
in the premises at any point in time. |

|
| SAFETY, HEALTH AND
ENVIROMENT |
|
| Safety of the
terminal has been given utmost importance, a fully
automated fire system has been provided along with the
necessary fire aid fire fighting equipment. Fire System
comprises of three numbers of gigantic engine driven
pumps each having a capacity of 7000 liters per minute,
which feed the fire ring mains. Thrity numbers of
hydrant points along with six numbers of fire monitors
have been provided in terminal on the fire ring main. |
 |
All the product tanks
have been provided with the foam and cooling rings to
fight any fire in the tanks. The ring mains have been
connected to the PPMC Jetty to provide cover to the
entire State owned PPMC Jetty which futher reaffirms our
committment to Safety.
A clinic witha full set of qualified personnel has been
provided for the necessary first aid medical services to
the personnel and to monitor the health of the
employees. We have a retainership scheme with a fully
equipped medical centre. First Aid Training to all
employees is also being imparted to make them better
equipped.
The entire layout of the terminal is organized in such a
manner as to achieve a harmonious blend of ultra-modern
technology with nature. Green belts and the plantations
in the various parts of the terminal not only add to the
beauty but also help in maintaining ecological balance.
The entire terminal is connected using a network of
drains to the Oil Water Separator System to ensure that
fuel is recovered and sent to the slop tanks and only
clean water goes into the lagoon. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| QUALITY CONTROL |
|
| The ultra-modern
laboratory has facilities for the analysis of all
parameters such as Flash Point, Density, Temperature,
Viscosity, etc, to guanrantee safety. The highly skilled
personnel manning the lab conduct pre-discharge tests on
products to ensure that they confirm to the approved
standard from NNPC/DPR. A separate sample room has been
provided where all the retention samples are kept for a
period of three months. |

|
| |
|
| THE TERMINAL |
|
| The strategic nature
of Apapa, Lagos in the downstream secotr of the oil and
gas business accounted for building of our depot at
Dockyard, Apapa, Lagos, Nigera. The location of storage
facility is unique as it has direct access to the
jetties. With all modesty, terminal remains closest and
most easily accessible to the government jetty at apapa. |
| The ultra-modern
fully automated fuel terminal has facilities that can
store 50 Million liters of petrolwum products in the
pursuit of meeting the goals of ensuring uninterrupted
supply of petrolwum products to their members. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| TANK FARM |
|
| There are six tanks
in the terminal with a cumulative acapcity of about 50
Miliion Liters. Three of these tanks are designated for
PMS, 2 for AGO and 1 for DPK. We also inherited 12 tanks
from Lever Brothers Nigeria Limited which have been
fully refurbished. What differentiates PMS tanks from
others is the fact that PMS tanks are Floating Roof
Tanks which ensure that there are no vapour losses and
thus falling in line with our promise of being
environment friendly. |
 |
| These tanks are
fitted with Foam Pourers and tank cooling rings, which
ensure that in case of any emergency the same can be
utlilized to put out fire and protect the surrounding
tanks. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| TRUCK LOADING FARM |
|
| The terminal is
equipped wiht a fully automated 8 point gantry with all
of the them fully in operation. Loading operation is
being monitored and controlled through the Control Room
using a series of flow meters, Control Valves and Batch
Controllers. Safety devices like earth relay have been
provided to dissipate any static charge if so generated
durig the course of loading. The TLF is surrounded by
Fire Ring Network with Fire Monitors and Hydrant Points
to take care of any emergency. |
 |
| Each 33,000 liter
tanker can be loaded in 15-18 minutes, which as the time
progress we will reduce to 12-15 minutes. Hence in an 8
hour shift opertion about 145 trucks can be loading
amounting to 435 trucks daily in three shift operational
regime. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| TANKER PARKING
AREA |
|
| Concerned about the
chaotic situation occasioned by the tankers parking on
the main road, the terminal has a parking lot for 180 -
200 tankers thereby nipping in the bud, traffic
congestion around the terminal. It also has a full
compliment of rest house, restaurant and convenience for
drivers. |
 |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| POWER SUPPLY |
|
| The terminal is fed
by 1000KVA power supply through the National Electric
Grid. In caqse of any power failure from PHCN (formerly
NEPA), 3 numbers of standby DG having capacity of
500KVA, 180KVA and 140KVA have been provided to ensure
smooth functioning. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| SECURITY |
|
| The entire complex is
being guarded on a 24 hour basis to ensure maximum
security of lives and properties. All entrances to the
terminal are manned by highly trained security
personnel. In addition to that, a network of CCTV
Camera's and Monitor's help to track movement of men and
materials. |
