  CUSTOMER GUIDE

Nipco Plc, Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company Plc, is a public limited liability company with an ultramodern depot facility situated at 1 & 15 Dockyard Road, Apapa, Lagos. We are basically into the business of procuring storage and sale of petroleum products namely: Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and House Hold Kerosene (HHK) also known as DPK.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES:

To enable us have a well structured customer database, it is our company policy to register every customer that intends to do business with us. The requirements for registration are
* DPR license, for storage & sale of petroleum products
* Certificate of incorporation
* Vehicle documents (if any) For owners of surface tanks only the DPR license and vehicle documents is required (if any).
Once these requirements are met, customers are registered and issued with a Code Number which is quoted on all customer transaction documents with Nipco. In addition to this, a Load Requisition Slip (LPS) booklet is issued to the customer to jumpstart the loading process once payment is made.
The (LRS) sells for N200.0O for a 20 page booklet and is necessary that the customers/marketers and their representatives requesting for load, sign on the LRS for the agreed quantity.

PRODUCT ORDERING PROCEDURES:

* Confirm Product Availability & Price.
* Payment for Product is made into our account with any of the branches of First Bank Zenith Bank or Standard Trust Bank that is on - line.
* Payment instrument such as bank drafts, bank cheques, bank teller or bank transfers (as applicable) are lodged with the sales dept for immediate processing and a copy of the teller must be kept by the customer. Kindly ensure all our bank draft clearing date.
* The paying customer/marketer must clearly write the company name on the bank teller as the payment instrument used.


LOAD REQUISITION / LOADING PROCEDURES:

* Once payment is made, the load requisition slip
is filled by the customer and registered with the sales department.

* The white copy of the slip endorsed by the sales officer is submitted to the security post to allow entry of customer’s truck(s).

* On entry, the truck is parked at our Trailer Parking Area for Safety Inspection Checks.

* Requirements for Safety Inspection checks are as follows:
- Vehicle Documents (Current and Up-To-Date)
- Calibration Chart
- Fire extinguisher
- Tyres and Spares
- Tanks in good condition
- Seat Belt
- Wiper
- Wind Screen
- Functional head lamp
- Functional break
- Horn


* Once the truck is passed for safety checks, the Load Requisition Slip with other attached documents such a Tanker Premise Pass, Photocopy of Instrument of Payment (e.g. teller) are submitted to Supply & Dispatch IN for loading.

* Loading at this point is on the basis of First Come First Serve.

* On setting up of load for the truck, it is then called to the restricted area to further proceed to the Tanker Loading Farm (TLF).

* At the Tanker Loading Farm (TLF), loading is done using automated processes and only the driver and one motor boy are allowed at this point.

* On completion of loading, the truck is parked at Supply & Dispatch OUT to wait the processing of sales invoice/waybill.

* While the driver is waiting for the sales invoice/waybill it is advisable that the loaded product be calibrated manually to ensure that the exact quantity was dispensed and in case of any shortage, it should be reported immediately.

* Once the sales invoice/waybill is fully processed and signed by the company authorized signatory, the customer’s copy is given to the truck driver or customer’s rep. and the truck is exited from our premises.
